Job Description

Somerset Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker with specialist expertise in NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) to join their team in Taunton, TA1 4DY. This is a day-rate interim role paying £279.41–£384.00 per day, starting 6 July 2026.

The postholder must have in-depth knowledge of NHS Continuing Healthcare eligibility, including the lawful limits of local authority provision under section 22 of the Care Act 2014, and extensive experience completing CHC assessments and the Decision Support Tool (DST) across a range of settings.

As a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will represent the local authority perspective, constructively challenge to support robust decision-making, and consider potential joint funding arrangements.

To be considered you must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. If you have a strong CHC background and are available to commence in July 2026, please get in touch.
