Childrens Social Worker – Parenting Assessment – #OR105460

Job Description

Swindon Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to undertake parenting assessments, predominantly pre-birth, to inform care planning for unborn babies and ensure appropriate safeguarding at birth.

You will produce comprehensive, outcome-focused parenting assessments that identify risks and determine the right support to mitigate them. Working alongside case-holding social workers, you will contribute directly to decisions about the safety and welfare of unborn and newborn children. A strong background in child protection work is essential, as is demonstrable experience in completing robust parenting assessments.

This is a locum role based at Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon SN1 2JG, paying £31.24–£42.00 per hour via Prism. The post starts 13 July 2026 with no fixed end date.
