Job Description

Semester Recruitment is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker for a front-line Duty and Assessment Team based at Princess Buildings, Halifax (HX1 1TS), working with Calderdale Council. This is a fast-paced, front-line role at the heart of children’s safeguarding. You will deliver a quality service to children in need of support and protection, carrying out child and family single assessments, risk assessments, and strategy discussions. The team also undertakes Section 47 enquiries, child impact reports for Private Law, and Public Law court reports, with court attendance required. You will need to be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in a children’s duty or assessment setting. Confidence in court work and a sound understanding of safeguarding legislation and thresholds are essential.
