*Advanced Practitioner – Emergency Duty Team – #OR105390

Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a qualified Advanced Practitioner to join its Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Lincoln, covering out-of-hours services for children and young people in crisis.

As EDT Advanced Practitioner you will act as the first point of contact — for both private individuals and professionals — outside normal office hours. You will be responsible for the identification, assessment, and case planning for children and young people requiring an emergency response that cannot wait until the next working day. Where necessary, you will attend presenting concerns or crises directly to fully assess situations and determine the appropriate course of action, drawing on locality resources to achieve safe, practical outcomes until daytime services resume.

The role involves managing the most complex cases, maintaining credibility and deep expertise in risk assessment and risk management within a child-focused context. You will develop specialist knowledge in child and family care work, providing advice and guidance to colleagues and contributing to the professional development of the wider team.

This is a shift-based role that includes sleeper shifts and two weekends in every four.

The post is offered on a temporary basis at a rate of £29.51–£40.00 per hour via the Prism portal, starting 27 July 2026. Social Work England registration is essential.
