Job Description
West Lancashire Borough Council is seeking a Customer Service Assistant based in Ormskirk (L39 2DF) on a temporary basis, paying £13.63–£17.73 per hour, starting 22 June 2026.
This role sits within the Contact Centre and Customer Service Points across Ormskirk and Skelmersdale, serving as the first point of contact for all service enquiries. You will handle face-to-face, telephone, and electronically delivered queries, identify the appropriate service required, and ensure customer issues are resolved efficiently.
Key responsibilities include acting as a greeter at the Council’s Customer Service Points, responding to enquiries via the Contact Centre telephony system, and liaising with management and staff across service teams to ensure queries are addressed effectively.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, be confident handling a varied workload across multiple contact channels, and be comfortable working in a public-facing environment.
