Job Description

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Senior Social Worker to join its Long Term Locality Service on a locum basis.

This role sits within a long-term children’s social work team and requires a practitioner with a solid background in Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court proceedings. You will carry a complex caseload and be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy whilst contributing positively to the wider locality team.

The post runs from 6 July 2026 to 30 September 2026 at a rate of £35 per hour. The working pattern requires a minimum of three days per week on-site at Westgate Plaza One, Barnsley, S70 2DR.
