Job Description

Gateshead Council is seeking a qualified Social Work Manager for its Disabled Children’s Team on an ongoing locum basis, based at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH. The rate is £36.61 per hour, with a start date of 15 June 2026.

This vacancy has arisen within the Disabled Children’s Team and requires an experienced manager to supervise social workers, quality assure practice, apply thresholds, and oversee the allocation of work across the team.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Previous experience managing within a disabled children’s or children’s specialist service is essential.
