Job Description
Salford City Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Child Protection Co-ordinator to join the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit (SQAU) based in Swinton, Greater Manchester (M27 5DA).
This is a key statutory role responsible for chairing Child Protection Conferences and overseeing the effective delivery of plans for children and young people across Salford. You will ensure that statutory functions within Child Protection Conferences are carried out to a high standard, with robust monitoring and development activity to drive continuous service improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
– Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring statutory functions are delivered effectively
– Monitoring and oversight of child protection plans, keeping children’s lived experiences central
– Contributing to service priorities within the SQAU
– Supporting the implementation of an asset-based and restorative approach to practice
– Providing additional support across the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit as required
Candidates must meet DfE Recommendation Compliance requirements; suppliers are required to complete the DfE Compliance Questions prior to submission. A five-year reference history and employment gap checks will be required.
Rate: £35 per hour | Start: 22 June 2026 | End: 3 October 2026
