Job Description
Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services — rated ‘Good’ in its most recent ILACS Ofsted inspection — is seeking 2 full-time agency Social Workers to join its Family Help service. This is a hybrid role based at 10 Duke Street, Blackburn (BB2 1DH), requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with the remainder worked from home according to service need.
You will carry out single assessments and hold complex Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases within a service that has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality practice.
Key requirements:
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in assessment and/or longer-term safeguarding/CP work
• Current Social Work England (SWE) registration
• Car driver (essential)
• Experience of Liquid Logic Children’s case management system (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage an independent caseload
• Flexibility to work across office and home settings

Rate: £39 per hour | Start: 6 July 2026 | End: 11 September 2026 | Full time
