Job Description

Haringey Adult Social Care is seeking a qualified Social Worker for a statutory safeguarding role based at 48 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 6UX. Starting 25 May 2026, this is an ongoing locum position paying £23.35–£32.00 per hour via Prism.

You will be embedded within a safeguarding team responsible for undertaking Section 42 enquiries under the Care Act 2014, ensuring adults at risk are protected from abuse and neglect through a person-centred, strengths-based approach.

Key responsibilities include conducting Section 42 safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory guidance, assessing risk and developing safeguarding plans, working collaboratively with health, police, and housing partners, and maintaining accurate and analytical case records. You will promote Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles, attend strategy discussions and case conferences, and take ownership of cases from referral through to completion.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration, with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience in adult social care including safeguarding. Direct experience of Section 42 enquiries is essential.

Desirable experience includes knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Best Interests decision-making, complex safeguarding casework, and strong multi-agency working skills.
