Job Description
Wirral MBC is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their Adult Safeguarding duty team, based in Birkenhead (CH41). This is a statutory role requiring confident, autonomous practice across a diverse and complex caseload.
You will lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014, triage new concerns via the Duty Rota, and undertake strengths-based assessments with outcome-focused support planning. The role involves completing Mental Capacity Assessments, conducting Making Safeguarding Personal conversations, and applying legislation and best practice to protect adults from harm or abuse. You will work collaboratively with health partners, police, care providers, and voluntary organisations, providing professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.
The successful candidate must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with strong experience in adult safeguarding or similar statutory adult services. Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills are essential, alongside confidence in managing risk and making evidence-based decisions.
