Are you a Newly Qualified Social Worker ready to make a real difference in adult safeguarding? A London borough based in Wood Green (N22) is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join its Assessment & Safeguarding Team, with this opportunity open to candidates with up to two years of post-qualification experience.
Working within a statutory framework, you will deliver key functions under the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, leading and coordinating Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries and undertaking risk assessments for adults at risk of abuse or neglect. You will develop and monitor safeguarding plans, carry out mental capacity assessments, and manage a complex caseload encompassing self-neglect, exploitation, and domestic abuse.
The role requires strong partnership working with police, health, housing, and other agencies, alongside participation in multi-disciplinary meetings and case conferences. You will maintain high-quality case records and may be required to provide professional witness statements.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have up to two years of post-qualification experience. Sound legal literacy across the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related safeguarding legislation is essential.
This is a community-based, client-facing role offering a competitive rate of £21.92–£30.00 per hour via the Prism portal, with a start date of 14 May 2026.
