Deputy Manager – Residential Care Home – #OR100993

April 29, 2026
£22 - £28 / hour

Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a residential care home in Leytonstone, East London, supporting older people with complex needs including dementia. This is a meaningful leadership role within a local authority setting, offering the chance to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.

Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations and continuous development of the service in line with CQC standards. You will lead shifts, supervise senior support workers and support workers, and deputise for the Home Manager as required. Key responsibilities include implementing person-centred care, managing staff performance, contributing to recruitment and retention, and overseeing safeguarding processes including completing DoLS applications and attending safeguarding meetings.

You will play a central role in quality assurance — auditing care plans, monitoring outcomes, managing complaints, and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date on systems including Oracle and Mosaic. You will also liaise with health multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure holistic, joined-up support for residents.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing a team in a residential care setting, a strong understanding of CQC guidelines, and demonstrable knowledge of dementia care and working with adults with complex needs. Experience of DoLS processes and safeguarding adults is essential. The role involves late and weekend shifts as required.

This position is offered on a temporary basis at a rate of £21.53–£28.07 per hour, with a start date of 1 June 2026. Based at 20 Chelmsford Road, Leytonstone, E11 1BS. If you have the leadership skills and care-sector experience to thrive in this role, please get in touch today.
