Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children’s Social Worker to join a forward-thinking service in Trafford that brings together Family Help Services with the Front Door of Social Care. This is a non-case-holding role focused on community outreach, empowering families to build upon their strengths and access the right support at the right time.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Front Door by taking referrals, working alongside First Response Advisors and partners to share information, identify risk and strengths, and facilitating the transfer of work to the most appropriate service. Using your expertise in assessing risk and levels of need, you will advise, guide, and model best practice — bringing plans together, drawing partners into effective collaboration, and enabling meaningful intervention with families.

Key responsibilities include:
• Community outreach and relationship-building with families and partner agencies
• Risk assessment and identifying levels of need
• Supporting referral and information-sharing processes at the Front Door
• Facilitating multi-agency working and effective work transfer
• Working flexibly, including outside of core business hours where service needs require

Candidates must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable knowledge of child and family social work practice. A minimum of five years’ references will be required, and any gaps in employment history will be checked. Relevant qualifications will be verified in line with the job description and person specification.
