Job Description

Are you a passionate, relationship-focused Social Worker looking to make a real difference to children and families in Somerset? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Family Front Door team based in Bridgwater, with flexible working options available.

In this role, you will be completing initial Child and Family Assessments following referrals received at the Family Front Door. Working within a Family Safeguarding model, you will collaborate with adult-focused practitioners specialising in substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health to inform robust assessments and plans.

Key responsibilities include undertaking direct work with children and young people to capture their voice and lived experiences, engaging with parents and the wider family network, and utilising Family Group Conferencing to identify strengths and support sustainable change. The team continues to develop its use of motivational interviewing to support families in identifying and achieving positive outcomes.

You will benefit from permanent Team Managers, a predominantly permanent staffing structure, and regular reflective group and individual supervision. Up-to-date technology is provided to support virtual meetings, team check-ins, and service sessions.

To be considered, you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with substantial experience in children and families social work. You will need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as the role requires travel across the area.
