Job Description

The following is essential criteria:

– Degree in Social Work

– SWE Registration

– Right to work within the UK

These posts will be based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary working for Kirklees Adult Care social services. It is a busy team and the role entails carrying out Care Act assessments and Mental Capacity Act Assessments/Best Interests decisions where appropriate to support timely hospital discharges. The candidates need to be experienced and preferably have hospital experience although not an essential requirement. The posts are full time – 37 hours a week – Mondays to Fridays. 

There is an expectation that the candidates may have to deal with adult safeguarding work as part of their daily work. There is an expectation that the candidates will carry a caseload with complex health and social care issues. 

Once the candidates are up and running they will be expected to be on the duty rota. 

The candidates will be given weekly workload management and regular supervision as well as an induction. 

These posts are to support the team throughout winter pressures as well as giving us time whilst we recruit to permanent posts. There is an expectation that the majority of the time the candidate will carry out face to face assessments in hospital and therefore the majority of time they will be based in the office.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work

  • Social Work England registration.

  • Post qualified experience.

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.

  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
