🌟 Children’s Social Worker – Disability Service (9-Month Contract)
📍 Blackburn with Darwen – Based at Duke Street

Semester Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Blackburn with Darwen Council, who are seeking a passionate and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their specialist Children’s Disability Service on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly supportive and skilled team, making a real impact in the lives of children and young people with severe and profound disabilities, as well as their siblings and families.

🔍 The Role:

As part of the Disability Service team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC)

  • Involvement in care proceedings and Court of Protection work

  • Working closely with Child Support Officers and multi-agency professionals

  • Contributing to care planning, safeguarding, and risk assessments

  • Supporting families to achieve positive, lasting outcomes

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

  • Proven experience in children’s services, ideally within disability or complex needs

  • Confident handling statutory work and court-related responsibilities

  • Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills

  • Able to start promptly and commit to a 9-month contract
