Urban Renewal (Housing) Officer - Bury - #000407A71

3 month contract with the potential to be extended or made perm.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible team player to join Urban Renewal to support in the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants.

An 'Urban Renewal' officer will improve private sector housing conditions by promoting and delivering a range of activities, including the carrying out of housing inspections, production of schedule of dilapidations and works etc and providing technical support in all relevant Urban Renewal activities This is to support compliance with Housing legislation, housing health and safety standards and generally improving the quality of life for residents in the Borough.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of activities including surveying properties/housing inspections, producing schedules of work, working with a wide range of internal and external customers and providing excellent customer care.

You will also be required to provide technical support to all relevant activities within Urban Renewal.

You will need to work effectively and efficiently within the team and to tight deadlines, whilst managing your own workload. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, and some knowledge of private sector housing would be useful but not essential.

You will be required to work from home due to the current pandemic and travel to customers’ homes to conduct surveys and inspections.

Hours of work will be 22 per week (Monday to Wednesday) worked in accordance with the Authority's flexitime arrangements and is for a fixed term till 31/3/2021.

You must have:g.

  • Previous experience and understanding of the 'Housing Legislation'.
  • Along with your 'Right to Work' documents we will need 2-3 references from previous employers.
  • Relevant qualifications/certificates.
