Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership (MEAP) is looking for a Moving and Handling OT or Physio to work in the MEAP Moving and Handling Team
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic OT or Physio who wants to make a difference to the lives of our disabled residents
The provision of appropriate moving and handling equipment and adaptations to disabled and older people can enhance independence, prevent falls and hospital admissions and reduce reliance on care services. The aim is to offer a comprehensive, co-ordinated and streamlined service to our customers. This role covers both children and adults
This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective operation of the complex Moving and Handling team within MEAP.
The service is extremely busy and deals with the assessment of applicants for complex equipment and major adaptations, Moving and Handling risk assessments and the assessment for and provision of Blue Badges (parking concessions for people with a substantial disability).
For this post, we are seeking an individual who has:

Experience of visiting older and disabled children and adults at home;

Ability to produce clear and concise written reports;

Ability to demonstrate strong team working skills including working in a multi-disciplinary team and liaison with relevant bodies;

Knowledge and practical experience regarding moving and handling legislation and completing moving and handling risk assessments

Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to disability;
-
A good understanding of the aims of the service in relation to meeting the needs of disabled people living in Manchester;

Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals ;

Good ICT skills;

A full driving licence and access to a car (for which essential car user is payable).
