Essential Criteria

NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People Or Health and Social Care

Must have experience supporting young people in a residential setting

Preferred Criteria

Driving License

Semester Recruitment Specialise in Supporting Young People ages 5-18 in supported living, semi independant accommodation and children’s residential homes.

We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.

Great flexibility with shifts and the rota's.

Rates from £14.50 an hour and £75 sleep – full and part time possible

Our client is a leading Provider of care to children and young people in the area and they are currently recruiting for Support Worker's on a long term temporary basis.

Shifts are typically 24 hour sleep overs however days / nights are also possible.

Although temporary, this is full time and ongoing with no end date.

This is supporting Care Leavers aged between 15-18, you will be helping to increase their independence skills.

It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Qualifications/ Requirements

High standard of general education.

NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and young People (CCYP) or equivalent.

Willingness to undertake further training.

Current full driving licence with business Insurance preferable

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the provision of Support for Vulnerable People (Service Users) for the Company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. To assist the Young person's allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.

a) Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans

b) Conduct welcome and induction for Young people

c) Ongoing assessments of Service Users’ needs

d) Provide ongoing support and monitoring of Service Users

e) Assist in welfare and NHS issues

f) Preparation of reports

g) Arrange appointments with various partner agencies

h) Maintaining regular contact with young people

i) Informing customers of support groups

j) Assist Move-On of Service Users

Some Shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers), great flexibility and 2-3 days a week would be full time hours. Excellent company with a great unit.
