Social Workers will normally be appointed to work in a social care setting, from which they will work as a member of a team. Social care services are structured into the first point of contact which is the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub at Annesley; Assessment Services in the North and South of the County; Locality Teams in Bassetlaw, Newark, Mansfield, Ashfield, Broxtowe and Rushcliffe, and Gedling; and the Through-Care Service based in Ollerton. Social Workers in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub assess the initial need for service and identify safeguarding concerns. In other parts of the Social Work Service, Social Workers work with children and young people and their families/carers. They have responsibility for the assessment of individual needs and the initiation and coordination of a range of services to meet them. They work with children and families with complex needs and high levels of vulnerability. They are involved in the management of significant risk in these cases.
