Job Description
Social Work position within assessment and intervention team.
Job role involves the following:
– Being an active member of the team that features one advanced practitioner and 5 social workers
– with the reforms, we are going into localities which will involve picking up S47s on duty days with S17s spread across 2 teams rather than in any given ‘duty week’ block.
– Contributing and minuting Strategy Discussions and CIN meetings/plans
– Undertaking S47 enquiries, single assessments, risk assessments, direct work with children to obtain understanding of their lived experiences and inform decision making
– Intervention work with families according to their areas of need
– Presenting children to child protection conferences and legal gateway where appropriate
– Engaging in supervision to review case work.
– Safety planning.
– Contingency planning with families to try and reduce risk of children being accommodated – family meetings in line with reforms at earliest opportunity
– Managing risk and escalating where appropriate to do so.
– 36.66 hours per week, flexibility with duty responses. TOIL for late working.
