This is an exciting opportunity to join our social work team in North Manchester where we have a team manager position available within the duty and assessment team.  There are 5 duty and assessment team meaning you will be on duty every 5 weeks.  Manchester is a supportive and positive work environment where we are passionate about children and supporting social workers.

This role is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your skill set whilst joining a team of hardworking social workers and supportive management. You will also receive the relevant equipment, training and induction to the team to help you succeed.

What will you be doing?

* Be available for consultation and advice on complex children's case matters where required, taking a lead role where appropriate.
* Ensure that standards, targets and timescales are met in relation to case allocation.
* Ensure that staff are managed in line with local performance management schemes and target.
* Responsible for allocation of work within the Children's Safeguarding Team.
* Authorise budget expenditure within agreed authorisation limits, and within budget.

What we are looking for:

* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK licence
* Post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in Social Work and experience of supervising and managing teams.
  • Social Work England registration or Social Care Wales registration for North Wales.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
