Cared For Children (Leaving Care) Social Worker

*Must have 1+ years post ASYE experience.

This a F/T 36 hours hybrid role (potential to consider condensed hours),with office based at Clarence Arcade, Ashton-under-Lyne. Duty cover is office based 3-4 days per month.*

In the Leaving Care team, you will play an important part in our continuing commitment to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our care leavers.

You will have the opportunity to lead the Pathway Planning process and support our children and young people to aim higher and to achieve their aspirations.

You will hold 18-20 cases of 16/17 year old eligible care leavers.

About you

You will need at least 1 year experience post ASYE compliance

You will need an excellent knowledge and understanding of the duties placed on the Local Authority for Cared for Children and Care Leavers & you will have a comprehensive understanding of care and pathway planning processes in supporting young people to make successful transition to adult life.

You will have the knowledge and understanding in delivering high quality support, advice and guidance in line with the corporate parenting principles, the Children Act 1989 Volume 2 and Volume 3 and the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.

Previous experience using Liquid Logic is preferable, but not essential and training can be provided.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children's
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
