Flintshire County Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our adult at risk and safeguarding team. You will be working at the forefront of adult safeguarding best practice, in collaboration with partner agencies, to ensure the best safeguarding outcomes for adults at risk of abuse or neglect. You will be part of a supportive team who pride themselves on supporting adults with care and support needs, reducing risk and maximising independence. Working as part of the wider adults and children’s safeguarding unit, you will be part of an established team committed to safeguarding and improving the well-being of children and adults at risk. Social workers in this team undertake screening and s126 enquiries, as well as short term interventions, including assessments under the Social Services and Well-Being Act (Wales) 2016, Mental Capacity assessments and all aspects of safeguarding work. Social Workers are expected to undertake investigations, attend strategy meetings, and support people with critical or substantial care and support needs who do not meet specific criteria for adult social care teams in Flintshire. The role requires commitment, flexibility and a thorough understanding of all relevant legislation and guidance including the Wales Safeguarding Procedures. The role demands the ability to build effective relationships with families, professionals and key partner agencies to safeguard and improve the lived experience of adults at risk. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable. Candidates must be registered with Care Council for Wales and the post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Adults
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
