Our Day Services

Sunderland Care and Support have two Community Recourse Centres based at Washington and Fulwell, offering day opportunities to adults living with families, carers or independently in their own homes.

We offer day opportunities – providing care and support for adults who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and those with complex health care needs. We build excellent relationships with customers and their families to ensure we instil confidence and trust, whilst promoting independence choice and control. We work with customers to develop, build and maintain daily liking skills. Colleagues’ duties will include, supporting people with intimate personal care, supporting people to eat and with their mobility and working in a person-centred way to ensure health and social care needs are met. are also required to contribute to and help maintain care plans, ensuring customers are fully involved in their care. We provide necessary training and support to ensure colleagues can meet the needs of customers, competently and with confidence. These are fast paced and rewarding services, with friendly and professional staff teams’

As a Support Worker you will be working as part of a team, providing, and promoting person-centred care and support, enabling individuals to make choices and have control over their daily lives.

Experience is not always necessary however, having current accredited training for example, Safe Handling of Medication, Moving & Assisting, first aid, etc would be advantageous.
