Minimum 2 years experience, needs to be able to pickup backlog casework straight away.

Hybrid role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 full time Locum occupational Therapists within the Disability Services Team based in Bury. We are a small and friendly team of Occupational Therapists who provide holistic assessments with the aim of improving our service users independence and quality of life.

You will assess and reduce risk for people with disabilities who are living in the community. You will work with the social model of disability and use evidence-based practice to carry out person centred assessments of service users and their carers to identify needs and take appropriate action.

We do this by assessing for and providing activities of daily living equipment and also recommending minor and major adaptations. Experience in moving and handling is required along with up to date knowledge on the latest equipment and techniques to support those that require care.    

We work closely with our partners in health and housing which will involve communicating with a variety of different professionals.

The roles are needed for a minimum period of 3 months.

You will receive regular supervision and participate in training and development and team meetings. You will also be expected to support your colleagues.

We currently have a blended way of working between base and home which gives flexibility.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Must be registered with Health Professions Council (HPC)
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience of working with people over the age of 18 who have physical disabilities but may also have mental health needs. 
• The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Decision making and organisational skills;
• The ability to explain, and encourage and build confidence;
• The ability to create a rapport with a range of people, especially people with disabilities.

Health and Safety

• Awareness of health & safety issues.

• Must be of smart appearance.

  • Essential car driver.
