Job Description
Professional Social Work Qualification, for example, CQSW, CSS, DipSW or Degree in Social Work, along with evidence of Post Qualifying training in Child Protection with current Social Work England registration. Over 3 years experience of complex social work with children and families, which has included child protection work. Ability to communicate clearly and positively with children, young people, families and a range of professionals both verbally and in writing, both within and external to the organisation. Able to apply good understanding of children’s legislation and local safeguarding procedures and local and national policy. Ability and experience of chairing meetings and reviewing plans with professionalism, curiosity and sensitivity in a multi-agency setting whilst being able to deal with challenge and diffuse any potential disruptive behaviour and difficult situations. Able to make timely decisions using professional judgement. Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information. Commitment to the achievement of positive outcomes in work with children and their families/carers. Experience of supporting, coaching and mentoring practitioners across the Children’s Services system to promote agreed Practice Standards and thresholds of need/risk. Management and leadership experience and/or qualifications. Experience of the development of performance indicators related to quality standards. Willingness to undertake further training as required, with a positive approach to self-development and service improvement and innovation.
