Governance & Business Support (GBS), part of the Rochdale’s award winning Adult Care Services department. Due to the expansion of our teams across GBS, we currently have a number of exciting and flexible opportunities for you to come and join our team as a Financial Business Support Officer (FBSO) on a permanent basis.

A little bit about us…
The Governance & Business Support (GBS) team is made up of 3 key business areas (as outlined below) and we are responsible for providing key business support services to our operational teams across the Adult Care Services department.

• Business Change & Client Finance (BCCF)
• Contracts, Performance & Governance (CPG)
• Home Improvement Agency (HIA)

About the role…
Our Financial Business Support Officers are essential to our service delivery and play a key role in making sure that we provide efficient and effective financial and business support services to teams across the department whilst ensuring we continue to deliver excellent and high quality services to others.

We are a fast paced and dynamic team who takes pride in everything we do therefore you will need to be an effective ‘multi-tasker’ with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

The ideal candidates will be motivated and forward thinking, who can demonstrate professionalism and enthusiasm in the way they work both on their own and as part of a wider team. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which enable you to communicate confidently and form strong relationships with others across the department, the wider Council and external organisations.

You will get involved with various different tasks on a day to day basis so excellent ICT skills and the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records using both manual and electronic systems are really important for this role. You will be required to regularly work with a range of information and data so you must have a real attention to detail so you are able to provide accurate and high standards of work.

This role will involve a combination of home and office working but we will work with you on this prior to you starting with us. Please note that this is a generic role and where required you may need to work across the different teams within Governance and Business Support, as outlined above.

You must have:

  • Multi agency minute taking.
  • Previous experience within the same or similar role.
  • Along with your 'Right to Work' documents we will need 2-3 references from previous employers.
  • Relevant qualifications/certificates.
  • Enhanced DBS
