South Court & Locality Teams

What we are looking for:

We have a requirement for x4 agency social workers for the South Court & Locality Team based at Etrop Court, Rowlandsway, Wythenshawe, M22 5RG. If you have highly experienced Children’s SW candidates interested in working at the South Team then please submit them.

We are not looking for workers to come into our teams for extra experience not because our teams are in crisis.
You will be an Advanced Practitioner (AP) and given the same development and training as all our senior and experienced social workers.


Experienced Social Workers (minimum 1-2+ years statutory social work experience within a Local Authority/1-2 years experience in court work)

The ideal candidates will have experience in complex child in need and child protection.
The candidates will be based within the Court and Locality Team but will be taking cases from Duty and Assessment
Experienced social workers in the court arena who are confident in court and can hit the ground running in this area of work,
Workers who are experienced in court work have normally been qualified for over 2 years
They have experience of both public and private law proceedings and have managed a case in court through to the final hearing.
I would ideally like the candidates to have experience of supporting lesser qualified workers,
Organised and can manage their diary,
Experience in pre proceedings and to know what good practice in that area looks like.

We have monthly group meetings with the AP. We would want you to see this as an opportunity for your own career development or to work in Manchester with a manageable caseload. Our teams are all currently staffed but we have a high number of newly qualified and as such we are looking for workers to come into the teams and support and share their skills and experience. You will be given a manageable caseload and be one of two APs in the role.

We have agency workers in this role who have completed their Practice Educator or have had students should you wish.

If you are looking to develop into management this will afford you those experiences as well as opportunities.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children's
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
