The role:

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37 hours per week) experienced social worker on the Mental Health Review Team based within integrated secondary mental health services. The office location is at Hanson Corner, Middleton, Greater Manchester.

The primary function of the team is to undertake reassessments of need under the Care Act and s117, for people who have a diagnosed severe and enduring mental illness, who are under psychiatry and in receipt of a commissioned package of support. There may also be an element of arranging services where there has been a change in need and also working with the psychiatrist/treatment team in the event the person were to relapse. The role requires travel both within the borough of Rochdale and also to neighbouring boroughs.

Essential Qualities:

Must have an appropriate social work qualification

Must be registered with Social Work England

Must have an appropriate valid DBS check

Must have a valid driving license and a car that can be used for work purposes.

Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience.

Must have experience of undertaking assessments under the Care Act and commissioning services

Must have knowledge and experience of working with secondary mental health pathways

Must have knowledge of types of severe and enduring mental illness and their presentations.

Qualified AMHPS also welcome, as may be able to support the AMHP rota.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children’s
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
