The Children’s Disability Service are seeking a qualified Social Worker. This post will involve working with children and their families who are supported via a CIN Plan, CP plan, PLO and Looked after Children. Referrals from the team come directly from CADS, with Social Workers in the team completing Child and Family Assessments (including a carers assessment) and making recommendations around ongoing support. The team benefit from experienced Child Support Officers to support with direct work.

The team support children with severe and profound disabilities and their families. Whilst experience of working with children with disabilities is a benefit, this is not considered essential to this role.

This role involves supporting children and families in the Blackburn with Darwen area with occasional journey's out of the borough; a car driver is essential for this role.

The team are based at Duke Street in Blackburn. This is a full time role. A hybrid approach to working is encouraged, with 3 days being office based and 2 days working at home.

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with adults.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
