Tameside Complex Safeguarding Team are looking to recruit to the post of Complex Safeguarding Social Worker with a focus on ensuring that young people at risk of Child Exploitation receive support, information and services to meet their needs.
The Complex Safeguarding Team is a busy team co-located with partner agencies and based at Ashton Police Station. The team thrives on challenge with good team, manager and peer support, along with clinical support from a psychologist.

The interventions that you deliver will be young person led and a key focus of your work will be on building positive relationships and identifying the strengths of the young people to support them to reach their potential. You will be highly skilled at assessing and responding to risk, particularly contextual risks, and also at formulating safety plans with young people aimed at minimising these risks.
You will be completing direct work with young people, mainly on an individual basis, but in groups if required, to enhance their skills, knowledge and self-confidence to develop ways to exit exploitative situations and relationships or minimise the risk to their safety. You will be required to deliver this work in a range of settings and the work will incorporate different activities based on the needs of the young person.

We are looking for candidates who are able to be creative and persistent in the way that they work with young people.

You will be surrounded by a strong supportive network of experienced Social Workers and Managers who will provide you with a comprehensive induction and ongoing help and advice to enable you to reach your full potential. You will have access to a full range of comprehensive training aimed to improve your understanding of this area of work and keep you up to date with current research and findings

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children's
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
