About the Role: Halton Borough Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join our Duty and Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in the community. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, carrying out timely assessments, and ensuring effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to referrals and conduct timely assessments in line with statutory requirements.

• Undertake child protection investigations and risk assessments.

• Collaborate with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to develop and implement robust care plans.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

• Attend court proceedings and provide written and verbal evidence as required.

• Promote the safety, well-being, and development of children at all times.

Essential Requirements:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).

• Current registration with Social Work England.

• Previous experience in a Duty and Assessment or similar frontline social work role.

• A thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

• The ability to work full-time hours (no condensed hours available).
