The following is essential criteria:

– Degree in Social Work

– SWE Registration

– Right to work within the UK

£38 – £41 ph dependant on experience.

An experienced social worker is required to join the court service on a 37 hour a week basis. The practitioner will have had to had some level of experience with court work and will be expected to hold a caseload of care proceedings and manage complex dynamics for children and their families within a 26 week timescale. The practitioner will need to be able to develop plans, progress permanency, work well in a multi-agency setting and ensure that statements, assessments and recording is of a good quality.

The court service is a small service within Blackpool Childrens Services and expected caseloads are between 12-15 children once fully staffed. There is flexibility in managing weekly diary’s and practitioners are expected to manage these with an expected duty day once a fortnight based in the office.

The service consists of eight social workers and two team managers with one service manager and is situated in the Strengthening and Supporting Children department.
