Job Title: Project Support Officer
Location: Business Durham
Contract Type: Long-Term Temporary (to start ASAP)

About the Role:
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Support Officer to join their team and support the Enterprising Durham Framework and other externally funded projects. This is a long-term temporary role, starting ASAP, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of business development and enterprise growth projects.

You will be responsible for financial monitoring, ensuring compliance, coordinating project information, and providing administrative support. You’ll also liaise with subcontractors and assist with planning and implementing business start-up services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and maintain financial record-keeping systems for the Enterprising Durham Framework and other externally funded projects. Produce regular reports and assist with quarterly and year-end financial claims.

  • Project Support: Organise Project Management Group meetings and provide updates on the financial and performance aspects of projects. Work with subcontractors to ensure accurate, up-to-date records.

  • Financial Management: Manage payments, receipts, and prepare information for grant claims and reports. Ensure all financial processes are followed in accordance with project requirements.

  • Compliance & Audit: Lead compliance efforts for externally funded projects, ensuring that project files and documentation are properly maintained for auditing purposes.

  • Procurement & Budget Management: Place orders for project-related expenditures and manage project budgets, ensuring invoices and payments are processed correctly.

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to Business Durham managers and officers. Assist with business start-up services and respond to data requests.

  • Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Assist in maintaining effective performance monitoring systems, ensuring continuous improvement across projects. Help manage management information and customer relationship systems.

About You:
Our client is looking for someone with a background in project support, financial administration, and compliance. You should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience with financial software, reporting systems, and working on externally funded projects is highly advantageous.
