Job Description

The Disabled Children’s Team are looking for an experienced Family Support Practitioner to join the Team. The Team work with children aged 0-18 with a complex range of needs and disabilities. The Team support Children to access Short Breaks, Child in Need, Child Protection, Children Looked after and within Care Proceedings. We are a large team looking to recruit two Family Support Practitioners to undertake direct work with children and families, to support the social work role, to work to progress specific areas of children's plans and achieve outcomes for the children and families that we work with. The Team approach is that of restorative practice, which is the practice approach of Children's Services. The Team consists of Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, Short break Reviewing Officer, Family Support Practitioner (Action for Children) and three trainee Social Workers. It includes two Team Managers, Designated Social Care Officer and a Service Manager.

You must have:

  • Post qualified experience.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References required for the last 5 years of employment.
