Job Description
Birmingham Children’s Trust is on a mission to make Birmingham the greatest city to grow up in, and they need a committed Senior Social Worker to help drive that ambition. Based in Aston, Birmingham (B6 4DU), this is a full-time interim role paying between £22.50 and £30.57 per hour via Prism, starting 1 September 2026.
As a Senior Social Worker you will hold a complex caseload of children and young people, fulfilling statutory responsibilities across child protection, children in need, and children in care. You will work in close partnership with other professionals and agencies to ensure joined-up, outcomes-focused services. Accurate case recording using the Trust’s management information systems is essential, as is a commitment to reflective practice, the Professional Capability Framework, and Social Work England’s Code of Practice.
Supervision is provided by a Team Manager within established guidelines. Birmingham Children’s Trust values One Team working, high support and high challenge, and expects all staff to share its commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
