Job Description
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their Learning Disabilities Team, based at Redcar and Cleveland House, TS10 1RT. This is a Comensura-sourced interim role paying £363.46 per hour, starting 16 August 2026.
Working within adult services, you will support adults and carers to live the life they choose, regardless of age or stage of life. You will undertake needs assessments in line with national guidance, legislation, and departmental policy, and develop and implement care plans for service users and their families. You will act as allocated worker, managing a caseload that includes complex cases, safeguarding adults investigations, and court work, with an appropriate level of professional autonomy.
You will work in genuine partnership with service users, carers, and a range of statutory, voluntary, and independent agencies, maintaining high professional standards throughout. Recognising safeguarding concerns and acting through agreed reporting processes is a core element of the role.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in adult learning disabilities services and a sound working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and associated legislation is essential.
