August 3, 2026
£23 - £31 / hour

Job Description

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced Childrens Senior Social Worker to work full-time within the South Child Protection Enquiry Service, based at Lifford House, Stirchley, Birmingham (B30 3BN). This is a hybrid role — you will work between home and the office, attending on team days and allocated duty days.

The role centres on progressing plans for children and young people being assessed under Section 47 enquiries across the south of the city. You will hold a caseload of children and young people, ensuring statutory requirements are met, completing high-quality assessments, and creating and reviewing child protection and children in care plans in partnership with multi-agency partners.

Key responsibilities include safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people, critically analysing information to meet statutory obligations, liaising with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes, and accurately recording and communicating using evidence-based information.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Social Work, have completed their ASYE, and be registered with Social Work England. You will bring demonstrable experience working with children and families, strong assessment and analytical skills, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

This is a temporary post offered at £22.50–£30.57 per hour via Prism, starting 24 August 2026. To be considered, please apply with your current CV and SWE registration details.
