Job Description

Trafford Adult Social Care is seeking an experienced agency Social Worker to join their team based in Stretford, Manchester (M32 0TH), on a contract running from 31 August to 30 October 2026 at £30 per hour.

You will deliver strength-based assessments, tailored support planning and reviews in line with the Care Act 2014, working with adults who have care and support needs across Trafford. The role demands a proactive approach that promotes independence, recognises the potential for change, and maximises individual strengths through excellent, person-centred practice.

Key responsibilities include:
– Conducting strength-based assessments and developing person-centred support plans
– Responding effectively to safeguarding enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014 and local policy
– Applying the Mental Capacity Act 2005 in practice and professionally challenging decisions to secure best outcomes
– Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment, particularly with Continuing Health Care (CHC) colleagues

Candidates must hold a relevant social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Strong communication skills, a sound knowledge of the adult social care legislative framework, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team are essential.
