Childrens Quality Assurance and Improvement Officer – Practice Hub – #OR110133

July 31, 2026
£25 - £33 / hour

Job Description

Birmingham Children’s Trust — rated Good by Ofsted 2023 — is recruiting two Quality Assurance and Improvement Officers (Senior Practitioner level) to join its Practice Hub on a short-term interim basis, based in Aston, Birmingham (B6 4DU). Rate: £24.52–£33.31 per hour via Prism. Start date: 17 August 2026.

This is a pivotal practice improvement role within the UK’s largest children’s services provider. Working within the Practice Hub, you will support quality assurance and improvement activities across Trust services and with partners — undertaking and moderating practice evaluations, dip sampling, closing the loop, and delivering improvement activities using the Trust’s practice model. You will work alongside the Research and QA Specialist to analyse complex information and data, linking findings to performance and practice, and sharing outcomes across a range of internal meetings.

The Trust has well-embedded QA systems including regular practice evaluations, TLT audits, thematic and diagnostic audits, and service audits. The Practice Hub adds direct feedback from children and families to enrich this picture, and you will play a key role in engaging managers and practitioners in these activities.

The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience and a strong grounding across the spectrum of children’s social care. Applications are particularly welcomed from practitioners or managers with extensive auditing and practice improvement experience. You will be professionally curious, relationship-based and trauma-informed in your approach, with excellent written and communication skills and the ability to hold constructive challenge conversations to drive practice improvement.
