Job Description
Bury Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to lead a team of social workers delivering field social work services to children and families in the Bury area (BL9). This is a temporary role running from 24 August to 31 December 2026, paying £46 per hour via the GM Collaboration framework (XMS portal).
You will be responsible for managing the provision of statutory social work services, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and legislative requirements. The role spans children in need and child protection, requiring strong leadership of a qualified social work team alongside direct oversight of complex cases and safeguarding responsibilities.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, BA Hons Social Work or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a field social work setting, including substantial child protection experience.
