Job Description
Bury Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team, based at 3 Knowsley Place, Bury, BL9 0EJ. This is a temporary role running from 24 August to 30 September 2026, paying £38 per hour.
The CWD caseload demands a practitioner with demonstrable experience working with children and families with complex disabilities-related needs. Court experience is essential, particularly in matters relating to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) as they apply to children’s cases.
Candidates must be able to provide five years of references, with gaps in employment history satisfactorily accounted for. All relevant qualifications will be verified in line with the job description and person specification. Please note that DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions must be completed and attached to the candidate record prior to submission — applications that do not pass these questions will not proceed.
