Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Child Protection Conference Chair for an initial 3-month placement based in Liverpool (L6 3BH), offering £40 per hour via Ltd or umbrella.

This is a Child Protection Conference Chair role — not an IRO post. You will independently arrange, chair, and review multi-agency Child Protection conferences in line with statutory requirements and guidance. You will quality assure all CP Plans to ensure they remain on track and within statutory timelines, and will appropriately challenge practice where required.

Candidates must have significant recent experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer or CP Conference Chair, with full knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and children’s legislation, processes, and regulatory framework. A minimum of 3 years’ permanent post-qualification experience is required to comply with DfE regulations — please mark each role on your CV as permanent or agency.

The role requires at least 3 days on site per week at the L6 3BH office base. Free car parking is available on site. Candidates must be available to start within 4 weeks.
