Job Description

Oldham Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking an Adults Social Worker to join a Generic District Team working with adults aged 18 and over, based at George Street, Oldham (OL1 1HD). This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with the remainder worked remotely as agreed with the manager and in line with service needs.

The role carries a broad statutory caseload across adult social care. Key responsibilities include completing Care Act assessments and reviews, undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and best-interest decision-making, and completing and reviewing risk assessments and risk management plans. You will manage complex casework with multi-agency coordination, respond to and investigate safeguarding concerns in line with statutory duties and local safeguarding procedures, and maintain accurate and timely case records. Working collaboratively with service users, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes is central to this post.

Candidates must be able to provide 3 years of references, with gaps in employment history accounted for. Relevant qualifications as per the job description and person specification are required.
