Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting a Customer Service Advisor for its Out of Hours Team at Lancaster House, Lincoln City Centre. This is a 20-hour, 12-week temporary contract paying £12.76–£16.49 per hour, starting 3 August 2026.

You will be the first point of contact for emergency calls relating to Adults’ and Children’s Social Care, as well as District Council services, Libraries, and Heritage enquiries. Callers include police, health professionals, and members of the public; calls are often sensitive, requiring accuracy and calm under pressure.

Shift pattern: overnight (midnight–08:00), evenings, weekends, and all public holidays. Core hours are Monday–Thursday 17:30–08:00 and Friday–Monday 17:30–08:00. Candidates must be fully flexible across these hours.

You will need excellent communication and customer service skills, good IT literacy including Microsoft Office and Windows, and the ability to gather and process information efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Full induction and role-aligned training are provided.
