Job Description
Salford City Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking an experienced Childrens Child Protection Co-ordinator to join its Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit (SQAU), based at Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA.
This is a key statutory role responsible for chairing Child Protection Conferences and overseeing the effective delivery of child protection plans for children and young people across Salford. You will ensure that all statutory functions within Child Protection Conferences are carried out to a high standard, with robust monitoring and development activity to drive continuous service improvement.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the development of service priorities within the SQAU with a focus on children’s lived experiences, supporting the implementation of an asset-based and restorative practice approach, and providing wider support to the unit as required. You will work in full accordance with Salford City Council’s Values, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, and Community Strategy policies.
Candidates must have a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. A minimum of five years’ post-qualifying experience is required, and employment history gaps will be checked. Suppliers must complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions and attach the completed file to the candidate record prior to submission — applications that do not pass these questions will not progress.
