Job Description

Powys County Council is recruiting a Data Quality Assistant to support the Pensions service at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells. This is a flexible, agile-working position (including home working) offered via Prism, paying £13.26–£17.15 per hour, 37 hours per week, starting 22 June 2026.

Reporting to the Senior Pension Officer, you will maintain accurate member data for the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), cross-referencing employer and pension-held records, manipulating data between systems, and checking applications for benefits, transfers, and aggregations. Responsibilities include calculating Final Salary and Career Average Revalued Earnings benefits, recording service for McCloud underpin protections, and ensuring timely issue of documentation to members in line with disclosure regulations.

Essential requirements: 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or NVQ/QCF Level 2 equivalent; strong IT skills including MS Office, MS365, and Excel; experience moving data accurately between systems. Experience with Altair Pensions software and a basic knowledge of LGPS Regulations are desirable. Welsh language skills are also desirable. A Standard DBS check and BPSS check are required.
