Job Description

Runnymede Borough Council is seeking an experienced Revenues Technical Manager on an interim basis via the Prism portal. The role sits within the Customer, Digital & Collection Services division and carries day-to-day operational responsibility for the Council’s Revenues service, covering both Business Rates and Council Tax.

Key responsibilities include maximising revenue collection through efficient billing, recovery, and enforcement; managing discount and exemption reviews; overseeing system administration for revenues IT platforms; representing the Council at Magistrates Court and Valuation Tribunal; and ensuring accurate, timely completion of all Government returns. The post holder will directly supervise a Technical Team Leader, Senior Recovery Officer, and Data Control Officer, and will deputise for the Corporate Head of Customer, Digital & Collection Services on revenues matters.

Candidates must hold an IRRV qualification, have a minimum of five years’ experience across Business Rates and Council Tax, and be educated to at least A-level standard. Demonstrable management experience, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, and a track record of achieving high collection rates are all essential.

This is an agile/remote role based with Runnymede Borough Council. The day rate is £266.91–£351.00 via Prism, with a start date of 15 June 2026. Please get in touch to express your interest.
